Why Do We End Up Getting Hurt?

All of us get hurt so easily and that is because we are not so mentally strong that we can handle others’ behavior or actions that don’t match our expectations from them and we end up getting hurt!

Let’s just look into why these things happen and what is the reason behind our frequent mental and emotional damages…

Everything in our lives has different importance whether it be a thing or a person but sometimes we give too much importance to someone that it becomes a part of our life on which our emotions depend. We feel either extremely happy or sad just by their behavior and unknowingly our mood depends upon them. Giving someone importance is not bad but making someone more important than ourselves can be harmful. But the question arises why should we give so much importance to someone that we forget about ourselves, our moods, and our emotions.

Sometimes we consider a person in our life our secret holder and we share every tiniest part with them but what if they don’t consider you the same way you do? What if they get irritated with your oversharing and dramatic look toward life? The problem with us humans is that we are way too emotional for this practical world that doesn’t even care about one’s sentiments. They might take your advantage and use your weaker side as a weapon against you. It is not bad if you share something with your friends or colleagues maybe they understand you and are there to support you but if you do not want to be called that dramatic person whose emotions are being made fun of or you met someone new whom you think you can count on to then try to understand the other person’s side, how they feel when you talk about yourself with them, do they understand you? Do they motivate you? Do they console you? Or are they doing a formality of being nice to you?

Is it true?

We, humans, have a really good bond with one another where we think we can talk to each other without any hesitation once trust is maintained but that bond can get weakened if we stop understanding other person’s point of view. We always claim and feel that our problems are greater than the others but try to put yourself in their shoes, they might also be dealing with something huge and they might also need support. Problems are not about how small or big they are, every one’s way of tackling a situation is different. And that is why we should not compare our hardships with others.

We can all be the support systems for each other but all we have to do is look from the other person’s perspective, try to understand whether they are interested in listening to you or not, whether you are getting played by your emotions, or maybe you are oversharing some stuff that you should keep it to yourself.

Life is full of good and bad people and the major difference between a good person and a bad person is our understanding of them because it might be possible that the person you think is bad is a good one to others. We cannot expect others to behave according to ourselves but what we can do is maintain a simple and sweet line of the distance between one another and not let anyone take advantage of us, all we can do is take some precautions that can save us from getting hurt.

Don’t give so much importance to others that you end up getting hurt by others, don’t easily show your weak side to others that they can use it as a weapon against you, and try to seek out if you being too intimidating and spoiling their personal space.
