Why do we forget everything?

Ok! So lets just imagine ourselves in the childhood for a moment

Us hugging their legs when we were five,  enjoying in the gardens unaware of the problems of the world and just busy with ourselves exploring around, painting our own imaginative world, playing princesses and pirates, and having our best conversation full of laughter growing up in a pretty house where we had a place to run and had our best days which we tend to ignore today.

Playing, painting, learning, talking, laughing, smiling was part of our best days but we forget the ones whom we had these best days with, the ones who made these normal days the best! The prettiest lady and a smart man whom we call our “parents”.

We used to fall asleep on their laps, hear so many stories from them when our friends behaved meanly to us we used to come home crying, our mom was the one who diverted our minds until we forget their names. They were the ones who even supported us when we were wrong. Our first teachers our first friends, the first people whom we saw, made us learn everything from holding our fingers and making us walk to sacrificing their sleep to make us sleep.

But unfortunately, we forgot all these things, all their sacrifices all their doings all their time which they gave us, all the pain which they faced to bring us up in this world. The only thing which we tend to remember is the things which according to us they did wrong like their scoldings which were most of the time for our benefit, them expecting some respect, them not treating us the way we want to be treated, them to see us successful, to live a happy life by standing on our own feet.

We are so busy with our day to day problems that we ignore what are they going through, what is their side of life, just by learning new things or by performing better in our studies we think we are better than them but the one thing which can never get changed is their experience which we can not compare to, their struggles and hardships which we might our unaware of. We only know the things which are told to us by them but we don’t know the other side of the story the untold part.

We think to leave them establishing our own lives moving out and leaving them behind when they need us more than anything. The sad truth is that today we have stopped spending time with them, we have stopped showing interest in their lives because materialistic things and other relations are more important to us than them.

We remember our father our mother on just special occasions just to show the world how much we care about them but deep down we know that we are not giving our best. The best part is that they never complain, they just adapt themselves according to us, according to our likes and dislikes. Have our parents treated nicely to us only on our birthdays? Or 365 days? We both know the answer. So why do we shower and show off our love on just special occasions and the rest of the days we even don’t care about them.

It’s just a realization that we all should feel. They did many things to us never considered us their liability. So how can we lose our only asset, can we not just spend time with them, talk about their lives, listen to their stories, have soft and polite conversations, and thank god that we have them for real. We never know how much time they have with us so instead of regretting our whole lives let’s just come to our senses.

Lets us not forget everything and remember what are their contributions to our lives, and appreciate them . At last we spent the best days with them!
