Your Thoughts About Yourself?

No, I am not pretty at all! No one said that to me before! Come on I don’t believe you!

Recognizable? These are the random statements that most of us use in our daily life! And that is because we are not at all confident about ourselves.

We all are the best the way we are! But have we ever tried to see ourselves with our own eyes? Have we ever looked upon ourselves irrespective of others’ opinions? We all know the answers which are hard to accept.

We have shaped our thoughts about ourselves based on other people’s opinions. Most of us get ready to hear others’ appreciation and then flaunt it on social media. But have we ever tried looking good just for ourselves? A big NO! Because our opinions about ourselves don’t matter to us.

In our surroundings, there are many people we would have heard say “I never felt good about myself because no one told me before how good I am” why do we need others’ approval for our looks or tastes? We have unknowingly framed our perspectives based on others’ opinions. Maybe we are also like this but we never accept it.

If you like doing a specific thing, if you like doing something that your friends hate, if you love your dress style, if you like a dish that does not suits others’ tastebuds, if you like your hairstyle that others do not, if you like a flopped movie, if you like being an old school…then what is the problem with that? Why do you need to change your preferences just because the other person does not like them? We all should do the things that give us satisfaction, that makes us happy, and that keep us alive. Not something based on others’ likes and dislikes, at last, it’s our life!

We all are the most beautiful creatures in the world with different qualities. We are not alike and we should be proud of that, and that is how we get to see variations and variety among ourselves. Why do we need someone’s judgments for us to love ourselves or to feel pretty.

Some people care about their own opinions but we call them self-obsessed. In reality, they are not self-obsessed, they just know their value, their likes, and dislikes. We all should learn from them.

If no one ever called you beautiful or smart or handsome or charming that doesn’t mean that you are not one. The thing that matters the most is what you think about yourself! This applies to all humans. You cannot allow someone to change your opinion about what you think about yourself. You have the right to make your decisions about how perfect you are!

Try to love yourself the way you are, and appreciate everything that you possess! Because if you can’t love yourself, how can you expect someone else to love you?
